my cool.. Inspirations in a heatwave!

We are in the middle of a heatwave in the UK and things are getting hot and steamy everywhere. So here are some my cool.. tips and inspirations to help you seek some refuge from the heat and find your own stylish summer escape now that the holiday season is finally upon us.

Summer In The City

We all know that buildings, roads and structures retain the sun’s energy and reflect it back out when the heat of the day subsides. This makes it difficult to get comfortable at night, so summer in the city may not be your best option if you want a good nights sleep. So what are the alternatives? Well, grabbing the keys for your camper van if you have one, or hiring one if you don’t, is definitely at the top of my list if I want to get away and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Shade And Refreshments

My advice is to never fight the heat of the day, but instead escape it by seeking shade and refreshments. But this doesn’t have to be dull. It can be full of colour and vintage fun allowing you to take a break and restore your energy levels before you go outside to tackle the day once more.

Sleep In The Open Air

This is never more tempting than in the middle of a heatwave, and it can be done. All you need is a bit of imagination to adapt your own living arrangements into something wonderful. It doesn’t have to be on this scale, but if done well it can be magical as well as a relief from the heat.
