Happy ‘finds’

At Salvo Fair in Berkshire a few weeks ago I came across the fabulous Vintage shop PlanetVintage Girl. We were there doing some filming for a big TV project that I have coming up later in the year and was there with the very lovely George Clarke and Channel 4.

For the inquisitive minded like me, it’s always great to have a recce around the many stands of such great events. My plan was to find some interesting supplier s and potential items to buy for the show. Even better if the items had an obliging owner that were happy to be filmed too.

PlanetVintageGirl was a ‘find’ indeed. We had a bit of a 50’s fest there…buying lovely china, a hairpin leg, formica topped 50’s kitchen table and some other pieces.

Although the fair was down south, the shop is based in Manchester, but has a good website too. I have found it a good source of both furniture and smaller decorative items and china. it’s owner Laura has a good eye, and cares about what she does. The web-site includes a fantastic piece on what should be in your vintage restoration kit.. ie such stalwarts of the cleaning cupboard.. well…. probably your Mum’s cleaning cupboard..things like Brasso, T-cut and Ajax and handy hits as to how and when to use them.

Before I clean her out of all good things I thought good to share with you.
