Songs From The Shed: Sam Palladio

A charming and quite ordinary garden shed witnessed the early days of a bright and talented British Actor and Musician, Sam Palladio and friend of all things ‘my cool..’

It began its life during World War I as an army billet hut and has since been a butchers store, general storehouse and stables. It’s most recent reincarnation is as a back-to-roots music venue for indie, folk and acoustic musicians, producing sessions called ‘Songs from the Shed’.

Sam Palladio was a musician who used the venue to perform and session recorded and posted onto YouTube by Jon Earl, the shed owner. Now both Sam Palladio and ‘Songs from the Shed‘ have both achieved enormous success. The incredible creative output, and ‘back to roots’ style of the shed are held in high regard, amongst such respected musicians and aficionados as Cerys Matthews and Bob Harris.

As well as being a young Cornish singer and song writer, Sam is also a successful Actor playing a lead role as Gunnar Scott in ABC’s new hit drama series ‘Nashville‘ and BBC/Showtime’s ‘Episodes‘ alongside Matt LeBlanc. However, once back in the garden shed there’s no place to be diva-ish.

The music is as honest and unpretentious as the shed itself and both together give a sense of freedom and limitless potential, which is a very enthralling and exciting mix to have at the bottom of a garden.

We were privileged by Sam’s acceptance to feature in the book, which can be seen in ‘Songs from the Shed’ on page 49 of my cool shed.
